Château La Caussade Bordeaux Rouge 2022

Château La Caussade Bordeaux Rouge is a medium-bodied Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon blend from the Bordeaux appellation in south-west France.

This regional appellation sits at the base of Bordeaux's pyramid, the everyday claret everything above is measured against, spread across both banks of the Garonne and Dordogne. Merlot leads, ripening easily on clay and clay-limestone away from the famous gravels, with Cabernet Sauvignon for backbone and a whiff of cassis. Stainless-steel ferments with gentle extraction, then about a year in tank and older barrels. It's made to drink, not to cellar.

Dry and mid-weight, with the firm, savoury edge that marks claret out from warmer-climate blends. Good at 16-18°C with roast lamb, steak and chips, or a wedge of hard cheese.
