Château La Caussade Bordeaux Rouge 2023

Château La Caussade Bordeaux Rouge is a classically built Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon blend from the Bordeaux appellation in south-west France.

Merlot ripens early on clay and limestone, giving flesh and roundness, while Cabernet Sauvignon brings cassis and a firmer frame. The château sorts its fruit by hand, ferments in temperature-controlled steel to keep the fruit clear, and macerates just long enough for colour and tannin without hardness. A short maturation keeps it fresh and supple, a traditional claret made to open young.

Savoury, with cedar and dark plum over fine tannins. Open it half an hour before pouring at 16-18°C, and try it with roast lamb, steak frites, grilled sausages or aged cheddar.
