Description

Château Laballe Bas Armagnac in the 2.5-litre format is a single-vintage Gascon brandy made entirely from Baco.

The spirit of Gascony has been distilled in this corner of south-west France for at least seven centuries, well before Cognac was established in the Charente to the north. Château Laballe is at Parleboscq, between the Landes forest and the Gers river, in Bas Armagnac, and has belonged to the Laudet family since Jean-Dominique Laudet bought it in 1820; Cyril and Julie Laudet are the eighth generation. Distillation is in the estate's wood-fired copper still of 1923, and ageing takes place in Chêne Noir Gascon, 410-litre casks of oak from the neighbouring Landes, whose thick grain lends tannin and spice. No colour is added and the brandy is bottled brut de fût, unfiltered and at its natural strength. This is a large-format bottling of 2500ml.

Serve at room temperature in a tulip glass; the large format makes it a bottle for a long evening or a gift. Good with dark chocolate, walnuts or aged cheese.

*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur. If you are after a specific vintage, please contact us prior to ordering.
