Description
Château Léoville Barton Saint-Julien is a classic Left Bank Bordeaux red, made in the firm, cellar-worthy style associated with this celebrated Médoc appellation.
Saint-Julien sits between Pauillac and Margaux on the Left Bank of the Gironde, its gravel terraces long prized for Cabernet Sauvignon-based wines of structure and finesse. Léoville Barton was carved from the historic Léoville estate and has remained in the hands of the Barton family, of Irish origin, since the 1820s - one of only two 1855-classified châteaux still owned by the same family that held it at the time of classification. Uniquely, the estate has no château building of its own; the wine is made at its sister property, Langoa Barton, just across the road.
A structured, traditionally made Bordeaux red built for the cellar, equally at home with roast meats and mature cheese.
