Château Mazeyres Pomerol 2018

Château Mazeyres Pomerol is a plush, Merlot-driven Right Bank Bordeaux from one of the region's most sought-after appellations, known for velvety texture and immediate appeal.

Pomerol has no official classification, yet its best estates are amongst the most admired in Bordeaux, producing wines with depth and a softer, more generous profile than the firmer Cabernet-led wines of the Left Bank. Château Mazeyres lies on the western edge of the Pomerol plateau close to Libourne, on gravel and clay soils that favour Merlot, complemented here by Cabernet Franc and Malbec. The estate has long placed an emphasis on careful, low-intervention vineyard management to let its terroir speak clearly in the glass.

This is a supple, generously textured Bordeaux, well suited to richer meat dishes and to drinking with a little less patience than its Left Bank counterparts.
