Château Meyney Saint-Estèphe 2019

Château Meyney Saint-Estèphe is a Left Bank Bordeaux red from a historic riverside estate overlooking the Gironde.

Saint-Estèphe's clay-heavy soils give wines of firm structure, and Meyney's vineyard occupies a favoured plateau above the Gironde estuary, first planted by Cistercian monks in the thirteenth century. Owned by the Cordier family for much of the twentieth century and now part of the Crédit Agricole Grands Crus portfolio, the estate is notable for an unusually high proportion of Petit Verdot alongside Cabernet Franc and Merlot, a point of difference that helps define its character among Saint-Estèphe's classic names.

A robust, structured Bordeaux red, well suited to roast meats and hearty, slow-cooked dishes.
