Château Palmer 3ème Grand Cru Classé is one of Margaux's most sought-after wines, and 2019 ranks among its finest vintages.

In recent years the estate has become one of the leading names for biodynamic farming in Bordeaux, working without synthetic chemicals, keeping its own animals to produce compost, and growing cover crops between the rows. The gravel terraces of Cantenac and Margaux give fine, perfumed wines, and a high proportion of Merlot adds depth and generosity. In 2019 a warm, dry summer allowed the Merlot to ripen to full power, exuberance and body, while the Cabernet Sauvignon developed a certain coolness and reserve. Petit Verdot completes the blend. The estate itself places 2019 in the exclusive club of truly exceptional vintages.

Patience is well rewarded here. If opening now, decant for two to three hours and serve at 17 to 18 degrees alongside a standing rib roast, braised lamb shoulder or wild mushroom dishes; otherwise cellar it for a decade and beyond.
