Château Sénéjac Cru Bourgeois Supérieur 2020

Château Sénéjac Cru Bourgeois Supérieur is a Haut-Médoc red from the southern end of the Médoc, offering classic Left Bank character at a fair price.

The estate lies near Le Pian-Médoc, a short drive north of the city of Bordeaux, where gravel soils suit Cabernet Sauvignon well. Here Cabernet Sauvignon leads the blend, with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot filling out the palate, and the wine spends time in oak before release. In its youth it is deep, almost black in colour, with an expressive nose of black fruits and spice. The palate is full-bodied and intense yet smooth, held together by fine tannins. Its Cru Bourgeois Supérieur rank recognises a step up in quality within the Médoc's Cru Bourgeois classification.

Enjoy it young for its fullness and fruit, or give it a few years in the cellar to settle. Serve at 16 to 18 degrees with a mid-week steak, sausages and lentils, or roast chicken with mushrooms.
