Chatto Bird Pinot Noir 2024

Chatto Bird Pinot Noir comes from a vineyard at Pipers River in Tasmania's cool north.

Pipers River sits close to Bass Strait, where the maritime influence keeps summers mild and the season long, which is why the sub-region grows some of Australia's finest Pinot Noir and sparkling base. Jim Chatto, who spent years as a winemaker in the Hunter Valley, set up his own label in Tasmania to work exclusively with the variety. Fruit is hand-picked, fermented with whole bunches and native yeast, and matured in French oak with little new wood.

Serve at 15 degrees with duck, salmon or mushroom dishes. It will develop over eight years.
