Description

Chatto Savigny-Lès-Beaune Aux Vergelesses comes from a premier cru site on the Pernand side of the valley.

Aux Vergelesses lies on the slope below Pernand-Vergelesses, facing south-east on stony limestone, and is among the better-regarded premier crus of Savigny. The parcel is worked by Jim Chatto alongside his Tasmanian Pinot Noir, which is an unusual arrangement for an Australian producer. Fermentation is with whole bunches and native yeast, with ageing in French oak.

Decant lightly and serve at 15 degrees with duck, game or roast beef. It rewards twelve years.
