Description

Chatto Yarraensis Pinot Noir is made from Yarra Valley fruit rather than the label's usual Tasmanian sites.

The name comes from Eucalyptus yarraensis, the Yarra gum. The Yarra Valley east of Melbourne is one of mainland Australia's coolest regions and its Pinot Noir is fuller and a touch riper than Tasmania's, which makes the comparison worthwhile within one producer's range. The wine is fermented with whole bunches and native yeast and matured in French oak with little new wood.

Serve at 15 degrees with duck, pork or mushroom dishes. Drink over the next eight years.
