Description
Clarence House Chardonnay is a cool-climate Tasmanian Chardonnay from the Coal River Valley.
Clarence House is a Tasmanian producer in the Coal River Valley district east of Hobart, a cool maritime area of low rainfall and high sunshine hours that has become one of the island's key wine regions. Chardonnay is one of Tasmania's great successes: the island's long, cool ripening season gives the grape bright natural acidity and a fine, linear structure quite unlike warmer Australian regions, and it is equally prized for both still and sparkling wine. This estate Chardonnay is made to show that freshness and varietal clarity, with oak kept in the background, and it is sealed under screwcap to preserve its vibrancy.
Fresh and balanced, it suits grilled fish, roast chicken and salads; serve at around 10 degrees.
