Description
Clos Sainte Magdeleine Cassis Rosé is a classic Provençal rosé from one of the most celebrated estates in the historic Cassis appellation, a small enclave on the Mediterranean coast east of Marseille.
Clos Sainte Magdeleine occupies a dramatic amphitheatre of vines running down to the sea between the limestone cliffs of Cap Canaille, in an appellation recognised in 1936 as one of France's earliest AOCs. Blended from the traditional Provençal trio of Grenache, Cinsault and Mourvèdre, the estate's rosé reflects both the maritime influence of its cliffside vineyards and the region's long tradition of pale, savoury rosé making. The property has remained in the same family for generations, farming its coastal vines with an emphasis on freshness and a distinctly saline, mineral character.
A refined, food-friendly rosé, it is ideal with seafood, salads and the light, herb-driven dishes of the Mediterranean coast.
