This presentation pack holds four 50ml bottles from the Cognac Tesseron XO collection: Lot No. 90, 76, 53 and 29.

The Tesseron family has spent generations accumulating old eaux-de-vie in Cognac, and its numbered lots are graded by age rather than by cru alone, running from the youngest, Lot No. 90, through to the oldest and rarest, Lot No. 29. All are XO or beyond, blended chiefly from Ugni Blanc, the grape behind almost all Cognac, with Grande Champagne fruit at the heart of the older lots. Ageing takes place in the family's cellars, the most valuable spirits being held in the Paradis. Tasted side by side in small measures, the four show plainly how extended cask time moves a Cognac from bright and fruity towards the nutty, resinous rancio character of very old spirit, which is what makes the set a useful introduction to the range.

Serve neat at room temperature in small tulip glasses, best taken as a flight after dinner with dark chocolate or walnuts.
