Cognac Tesseron Carafe Passion 700ml

Carafe Passion is Tesseron's youngest XO carafe, averaging around fifteen years in cask.

It is a blend of Cognacs from three crus, Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne and Fins Bois, drawing on roughly thirty component eaux-de-vie, all distilled from Ugni Blanc, the white grape behind almost all Cognac production. At least ten of those years were spent in Limousin oak, a wide-grained wood that gives up tannin and aromatic compounds relatively quickly and suits a spirit intended for release at this age. The Tesserons built their reputation on holding old stock, and the carafe range is graded by age, with Passion sitting below Légende and Trésor but still comfortably beyond the ten-year minimum for XO. The components here were selected for grace and floral lift rather than for power, giving a vinous and fairly fluid style.

Serve neat at room temperature in a tulip glass, after dinner or with strong coffee. It also holds its own in a Sidecar.
