Commune of Buttons Estate Pinot Noir 2025

Commune of Buttons Estate Pinot Noir is a Basket Range Pinot Noir blended from two estate blocks.

Clover and Gloria supply the fruit, both planted to a patchwork of clones in the clay, sandstone and quartz-rich soils that run through Basket Range. After hand harvest the grapes were sorted and destemmed with ten per cent of bunches left whole, macerated three weeks, then given eleven months in a mix of old and new barriques. The Adelaide Hills sit high enough — and Basket Range high enough within them — that Pinot Noir holds natural acidity without early picking, which is the foundation of the style Jasper Button works in.

Fresh and finely detailed, red fruit on the nose over a darker brambly core, with a generous middle and soft silky tannins. Serve at 14 degrees. Good with roast duck, a mushroom and barley braise, or cured salmon.
