Commune of Buttons Gloria Pinot Noir 2025

Commune of Buttons Gloria Pinot Noir is a barrel selection from Pinot Noir planted in 1992 at Basket Range.

The Gloria vineyard covers a single hectare, dry-grown and low-yielding on an east-facing slope of clay, sandstone, quartz and ironstone, the last leaving a mineral trace in the wine. MV6 and 115 clones are planted. Fruit was hand harvested, sorted and destemmed with around ten per cent whole bunches retained, macerated for three weeks, then matured eight months in barriques with 20 per cent new oak and a further four months in tank before bottling. Vines of this age remain unusual in the Adelaide Hills, and the depth here shows why they matter.

Bright natural acidity carries a core of cherry, cranberry and plum, lifted by forest-floor complexity and closing on a savoury, ironstone-tinged finish. Elegant and balanced. Serve at 14 to 15 degrees with duck breast, roast pork, or mushrooms on grilled bread.
