Corte Giara Pinot Grigio delle Venezie DOC 2025

Corte Giara Pinot Grigio delle Venezie DOC is a dry white from north eastern Italy, the heartland of the variety's modern success.

The delle Venezie appellation was promoted to DOC in 2017, drawing together Pinot Grigio grown across the Veneto, Friuli and Trentino and putting firmer rules around what had become one of the most widely exported white wines in the world. The grape arrived in the region in the nineteenth century and does well on the alluvial plains between the Alps and the Adriatic, where cool nights help preserve acidity through ripening. Fruit is pressed gently and fermented cool in stainless steel, without oak, then bottled early to keep it fresh. The DOC also brought in a rule requiring the wine to be released only from the following January, a check on the rush to bottle. Corte Giara is a label produced under the Allegrini family of Fumane, in Valpolicella.

Straightforward with seafood, salads and light pasta dishes; serve well chilled, at around 8 to 10 degrees.
