Description
Craggy Range Gimblett Gravels Chardonnay comes from the stony river bed district in Hawke's Bay.
The Gimblett Gravels is a defined area of old Ngaruroro riverbed, its deep shingle soils holding heat and draining fast, which makes it the warmest reliable ripening site in New Zealand. Craggy Range has held land there since the late 1990s. The fruit is whole-bunch pressed, fermented with native yeast in French oak and matured on lees.
Serve at 12 degrees with roast chicken, pork or a rich fish dish. It develops over eight years.
