Description
Craggy Range Martinborough Pinot Noir draws on the winery's Te Muna terraces at the southern end of the North Island.
Martinborough sits in the rain shadow of the Rimutaka ranges on free-draining river terraces, a combination that gives Pinot Noir concentration and firm structure. The Te Muna vineyard, planted from 1999, lies on an older, higher terrace than the town's original plantings. Fruit is hand-picked, fermented with native yeast and a portion of whole bunches, and matured in French oak.
Serve at 15 degrees with duck, pork or mushroom dishes. It develops over eight years.
