Description

Craggy Range Te Muna Road Pinot Noir comes from a terrace above the Huangarua River in Martinborough.

Martinborough sits at the southern end of the North Island, sheltered by the Rimutaka ranges, on free-draining river terraces that suit Pinot Noir. The Te Muna Road vineyard, planted by Craggy Range in 1999, lies on an older and higher terrace than the original Martinborough plantings, with windier conditions and a later harvest. The winery was founded in 1998 by Terry Peabody with viticulturist Steve Smith MW, built around single-vineyard wines. Fruit is hand-picked, largely destemmed, fermented with indigenous yeast and matured in French oak.

Serve at 15 degrees with duck, mushroom dishes or roast pork. It will develop over eight years.

*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur. If you are after a specific vintage, please contact us prior to ordering.
