Description
Craiglee Eadie Shiraz comes from a single paddock on the southern side of Jacksons Creek, bottled apart from the estate's main Shiraz.
Vines first went into that ground in 1863, planted by the family whose name the wine now carries, and it was replanted in 1993. Pat Carmody revived the older estate vineyard just north-west of Melbourne in 1976 and made his first vintage two years later; he and Dianne still own and run the place. Fruit off the younger plot is worked the same way as that from the original old block.
Expect plum and blueberry on the nose, then black pepper, liquorice and a smoky, savoury edge across a medium-bodied palate with fine tannins. Open it at about 16-18°C. Good with slow-roasted lamb shoulder, mushroom risotto or a plate of charcuterie.
*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur. If you are after a specific vintage, please contact us prior to ordering.
