Description

Croix & Courbet Côtes du Jura Calvaire Chardonnay Ouillé is a topped-up Chardonnay from a named Jura parcel.

Chardonnay has been grown in the Jura for as long as it has in Burgundy next door, and on the region's blue and grey marls it takes on a firmer, saltier character. Au Calvaire is a south-east facing site in a valley. Croix & Courbet began in 2019, when David Croix of Domaine des Croix in Beaune joined Damien Courbet in the Jura; they buy organically farmed fruit and make the wines ouillé, with the barrels topped up so no veil of yeast forms.

Serve at 11 degrees with roast chicken, river fish, Comté or a gratin.
