Description
Cros des Calades Le Ballon Rosé is a southern French rosé made from Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault, sourced from organic vineyards in the Ardèche.
Florence and Benoît Chazallon, also known for Château de la Selve, started Cros des Calades in Grospierres, a small village in the south of the Ardèche. They take grapes from five organic growers close by, and each site brings something of its own, from clay-limestone ground on the edge of the Cévennes to sunnier Mediterranean slopes. The juice ferments with its own native yeasts and is handled gently from there on.
Pour it cold, at about 8°C, alongside charcuterie, salade niçoise, grilled chicken or anything off the barbecue.
