Cullen Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot 2024

Cullen Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot is the estate's approachable Wilyabrup red, built on the two varieties Margaret River is known for.

Wilyabrup sits in the northern half of Margaret River, on gravelly loam over granite, and the Indian Ocean on both sides of the cape keeps the season long and even, which is what lets Cabernet ripen fully here without losing acidity. Cullen planted in 1971 and has farmed biodynamically since 2003, using its own compost and preparations. Fruit is hand-picked, fermented with wild yeast and matured in French oak, with the Merlot filling out the middle of the Cabernet frame.

Serve at 17 degrees with lamb, beef or a mushroom dish. It will develop over ten years.
