Cullen Diana Madeline 2020

Cullen Diana Madeline is a Cabernet-led red from Wilyabrup, made by one of the longest-standing family estates in Margaret River.

Margaret River lies on a narrow coastal strip between two capes in Western Australia, cooled by the Indian Ocean on both sides, and Wilyabrup in its northern half is the sub-region most associated with Cabernet Sauvignon. The Cullen family planted here in 1971 and the vineyard has been farmed biodynamically since 2003 under Vanya Cullen, with the estate's own compost and no synthetic inputs. Fruit is hand-picked and sorted berry by berry, fermented with wild yeast and matured in French oak barriques, with Merlot and the other Bordeaux varieties filling out the Cabernet frame.

Decant and serve at around 17 degrees alongside lamb, venison or a dish built on wild mushrooms. It is built for long cellaring.
