Cullen Diana Madeline 2022

Cullen Diana Madeline is the flagship Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot of a Wilyabrup estate that has farmed biodynamically for two decades.

Wilyabrup sits at the heart of Margaret River, the strip of Western Australia whose maritime climate and gravelly loam soils have made it the country's most reliable source of Cabernet. Cullen was planted in 1971 by Kevin and Diana Madeline Cullen, among the region's founding families, and has been led since 1989 by their daughter Vanya, who took the vineyard to certified organic and then biodynamic status and later to carbon neutrality. The wine is named for her mother. Cabernet Sauvignon leads, with Merlot and small portions of Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot, fermented in open vessels and matured in French oak.

Decant an hour ahead and serve at 17 degrees with roast lamb or aged beef. It rewards fifteen years or more in the cellar.
