Dandelion Vineyards Damsel of the Barossa Merlot 2024

Dandelion Vineyards Damsel of the Barossa Merlot is a plush, perfumed Barossa Merlot with fine tannins and fresh acidity.

Founded in 2007 by winemaker Elena Brooks and her husband Zar, the Dandelion project works with growers who tend some of South Australia's older vineyards. This Merlot comes from the Barossa, where warm days build generous, ripe fruit and the grape's softer side can shine. The approach in the winery is gentle, letting the variety's aromatic lift lead, with only a hint of oak sitting in the background. The result is a red that pairs blueberry and plum fruit with a surprisingly firm, textural tannin frame and a line of acidity that keeps the palate long and fresh.

Serve at around 16 to 18 degrees. It is a good match for roast pork, mushroom risotto or lamb cutlets, and happy to be opened now or kept for a few years.
