Description

Dandelion Vineyards Honeypot of the Barossa Roussanne is a textural Rhône-style white made from Roussanne grown in the Barossa.

Roussanne comes from France's Rhône Valley, where it is often blended with Marsanne, and it has found a home in the warm Barossa alongside Rhône reds such as Grenache and Mataro. Dandelion Vineyards, set up in 2007 by winemaker Elena Brooks and Zar Brooks, bottles it on its own. The 2024 is bright white-gold, with beeswax, mandarin zest and rosemary flower notes. The variety's natural breadth and texture are held in check by a firm, linear acidity, giving a crisp, clean and long finish.

Serve chilled but not icy, which lets the texture show. Roast chicken, pork belly or a creamy seafood chowder all suit it well.
