Description

Dandelion Vineyards Lioness of McLaren Vale Shiraz is a smooth, velvety McLaren Vale Shiraz with fine structure.

McLaren Vale's rolling vineyards between the Mount Lofty Ranges and the sea have a long history with Shiraz. Winemaker Elena Brooks, co-founder of Dandelion Vineyards, sources this wine from local growers and aims for a polished, balanced style. The 2024 is bright red-purple, with fresh plum, graphite, dried peel, star anise and rose petal. The palate is smooth and rich yet structured, with background tannins adding lift before a long, dry, earthy finish.

With a hearty dish such as beef and red wine pie, lamb kofta or a wood-fired pizza, it is at its best at around 16 to 18 degrees. Decant if opening young.
