Description

Dandelion Vineyards Lion's Tooth of McLaren Vale Shiraz Riesling is a round, generous McLaren Vale red with a fragrant lift from Riesling.

Dandelion is the collaboration of winemaker Elena Brooks and Zar Brooks, started in 2007 around old South Australian vineyards and the families that farm them. Here McLaren Vale Shiraz makes up the bulk of the blend, with just 6% Riesling bringing freshness and perfume, much as Viognier does in the northern Rhône. The 2024 offers plum, blackberry, raspberry and sarsaparilla, with herbal hints of thyme and bay. It is round and chewy, while a gentle acidity keeps it restrained and bright.

Open it alongside slow-roasted pork shoulder, a meaty pizza or grilled mushrooms, serving at around 16 to 18 degrees. Enjoy it young or over the next few years.
