Dandelion Vineyards Menagerie of the Barossa Grenache Shiraz Mataro is a Barossa take on the classic Rhône-inspired GSM blend.

Grenache, Shiraz and Mataro (Mourvèdre) have grown side by side in the Barossa since the nineteenth century, and blends of the three are one of the region's great traditions. Dandelion Vineyards, established by Elena and Zar Brooks in 2007, puts Grenache in the lead here. The 2023 is dark and lustrous, with blackberry, white pepper, dried herbs, cocoa and black olive. Grenache gives the berried fruit, Shiraz adds depth and Mataro brings a savoury, drying grip, all wrapped in an inky yet round texture.

Versatile at the table, it goes with lamb tagine, pork sausages, duck or a vegetable cassoulet. Serve at around 16 to 18 degrees.
