Dandelion Vineyards Treasure Trove McLaren Vale Grenache is a pale, perfumed Grenache from McLaren Vale in a light, Pinot-like style.

Grenache has been grown in McLaren Vale for well over a century, and the region's growers now favour fresher, more delicate styles that let the grape's perfume come through. Elena Brooks, who co-founded Dandelion Vineyards with Zar Brooks in 2007, follows that path here. The 2024 is Pinot-pale, with raspberry, savoury red fruits, allspice, pine forest floor and a touch of liquorice. The palate is delicate and poised, with red and blue berries and a quick, clean finish.

Give it a light chill, to around 14 to 16 degrees, and pair it with roast duck, salmon, charcuterie or a tomato-based pasta. Best enjoyed while young and fresh.
