Southern Wild Distillery works out of Devonport on Tasmania's north-west coast, and the Dasher + Fisher name comes from two rivers that run down off the mountains nearby. The three gins in the set are built around different Tasmanian ingredients: Mountain leans on native pepperberry, Meadow on lavender, and Ocean on wakame harvested from the coast. Each is the full-strength gin as it is normally bottled, just in a smaller format. Three 200ml bottles give roughly four or five drinks apiece, which is enough to get the measure of all three.

It suits anyone who would sooner taste across a range than commit to a full bottle, and it makes a straightforward gift for a gin drinker whose preferences you do not know. Also handy for a small tasting at home, or for taking three good gins camping.
