David Duband Nuits St Georges Procès Premier Cru 2023

David Duband Nuits St Georges Procès is a premier cru from a small climat on the northern side of the commune, towards Vosne-Romanée.

Aux Procès lies in the northern sector of Nuits-Saint-Georges, on the upper part of the slope near Aux Thorey and Les Damodes, where the soil is thin and stony over limestone and the vineyard sits high enough to keep acidity firm. Wines from this end of the commune are the more perfumed and finer-boned of Nuits-Saint-Georges, closer in character to neighbouring Vosne than to the broad, iron-rich reds of the Premeaux end. Pinot Noir is the sole grape. David Duband farms organically, works with a high proportion of whole bunches and extracts by gentle infusion, ageing in barrel with a measured amount of new oak and bottling under a Diam closure.

Firm but scented, it suits game birds, beef and truffled dishes and rewards cellaring; serve at around 17 degrees.
