Description

Dawson James Island Belle Pinot Noir is a bright, early-drinking Tasmanian Pinot Noir made to enjoy young.

Peter Dawson and Tim James spent many years in senior winemaking roles at Hardys before starting their Tasmanian project. This is the more approachable side of their range, showing fresh, pure cool-climate Pinot with none of the long cellar time the flagship bottlings get. The fruit comes from the Derwent Valley north-west of Hobart, a dry, sheltered spot with a long, cool season, and oak stays in the background.

Light and juicy, with red cherry, strawberry and soft tannins. Pour it slightly cool, 14–16°C, with charcuterie, salmon, mushroom risotto or roast chicken.
