Description

Dawson James Pinot Noir is a savoury Tasmanian Pinot Noir from the Derwent Valley, released only once it has some age.

Holding wines back until they have meaningful bottle age is part of the label's philosophy, and this one follows suit after its time in French oak. It comes from the Meadowbank vineyard north-west of Hobart, where a dry, sheltered setting and a long, cool season give Pinot bright acidity alongside depth and fine tannin. The pair behind it spent many years in senior roles at Hardys before turning to Tasmania.

Red and dark cherry, a little spice and silky tannins filled out by age. Try it at 15–17°C with roast pork, duck or mushrooms.
