Description

Dawson James Pinot Noir is a fine-boned, cellar-released Pinot Noir from southern Tasmania, made by two veteran winemakers.

Two former Hardys winemakers, Peter Dawson and Tim James, made Tasmania their focus after long careers as two of the most experienced winemakers of their generation. Their fruit is drawn from Meadowbank, in the Derwent Valley north-west of Hobart, where the long, cool ripening period suits the grape. French oak comes next, and then patience: the wine stays in the cellar until it has built some complexity in bottle.

Savoury and fine, with red and dark cherry, a touch of spice and tannins softened by time. Serve at 15–17°C alongside duck, roast pork or a mushroom dish.
