Denton View Hill Pinot Noir 2025

Denton View Hill Pinot Noir is a Yarra Valley Pinot Noir blended from six blocks across the estate hill.

Drawing on six separate blocks spread over a cone-shaped hill gives a winemaker a lot to work with: different aspects, different exposures, different ripening dates, all on the same granite-boulder soils. The close-planted material contributes energy and precision, while the broader plantings fill out the middle. Fermentation was wild, extraction deliberately gentle, and the oak handling measured, so nothing sits between the drinker and the site. What comes out has a wild streak to it, substantial and lifted and a little left of centre, which is how this estate has always read its own ground.

Dark raspberry and sour cherry lead, with smoky spice and a savoury edge, then fine webbed tannin and plenty of juicy lift. Serve at 15 degrees, decanted briefly. It works with duck, roast pork, grilled mushrooms, or a dish of lentils and smoked bacon.
