Deviation Road Chardonnay 2023

Deviation Road Chardonnay is a precise, textural Adelaide Hills Chardonnay from a family estate better known for its sparkling wines.

At Longwood in the Adelaide Hills, Kate and Hamish Laurie grow and make a small range of cool-climate wines. Their high-altitude vineyards give slow ripening and natural acidity, qualities that suit both their sparkling wines and this still Chardonnay. The 2023 is complex and layered, with chalky minerality, white nectarine and lemon blossom, plus a toasty macadamia note. The finish is dry and textural, held together by precise natural acidity.

Chill lightly and serve with roast pork, scallops in brown butter or a wedge of aged Comté.
