Domaine Albert Mann Riesling Furstentum Grand Cru 2024

Domaine Albert Mann Riesling Furstentum Grand Cru is a dry, firmly built Riesling from a limestone grand cru in Alsace.

Thin soils on a steep south-facing slope above Kientzheim and Sigolsheim give Riesling here a firm, salty drive more than richness. The domaine, run for decades from Wettolsheim by brothers Maurice and Jacky Barthelmé, came together when their marriages joined two old family holdings. Everything is farmed organically and biodynamically. The grapes are hand-picked, whole-bunch pressed and fermented on wild yeasts, then kept on lees in large neutral casks and older barrels before a dry bottling.

Mineral and tight, with plenty of depth behind the acidity. Serve at 10–12°C with roast chicken, grilled fish or Alsace charcuterie, or give it another five to ten years in the cellar.
