Domaine Alzipratu Cuvée Fiumeseccu Rouge 2023

Domaine Alzipratu Fiumeseccu Rouge is a Corsican red from the Balagne, in the island's north-west.

Corsica sits closer to Italy than to France and its grapes reflect that: Niellucciu is Sangiovese under another name, and Sciaccarellu is found almost nowhere else. The Balagne is a hot, dry corner of granite hills behind Calvi, cooled by sea breezes. The estate farms organically. Fiumeseccu means dry river.

Serve at 16 degrees with grilled lamb, charcuterie or a herb-crusted rack. Drink over the next eight years.
