Description

Domaine Benoît Badoz Les Roussots is a Chardonnay from the Jura, in eastern France.

The Jura lies between Burgundy and Switzerland, on grey and blue marl soils, and its Chardonnay comes in two modes: ouillé, topped up in barrel like Burgundy, or left under a veil of yeast to develop oxidative character. The region has barely two thousand hectares under vine but an outsized reputation. The Badoz family has made wine at Poligny for generations.

Serve at 11 degrees with roast chicken, comté or a creamy fish dish. It develops over eight years.
