Domaine Bruno Clair Marsannay Blanc 2015

Domaine Bruno Clair Marsannay Blanc is a mature village white Burgundy, now with more than a decade in bottle.

Bruno Clair founded his domaine in 1979 at Marsannay-la-Côte, on the doorstep of Dijon, and it is now regarded as one of the top estates of the northern Côte de Nuits. Marsannay became a village appellation in 1987 and is unusual in Burgundy for making red, white and rosé. Its Chardonnay grows on limestone and clay slopes that give freshness and a chalky edge. 2015 was a warm, ripe year in Burgundy, so expect a rounder style that has had time to develop nutty, honeyed notes alongside its citrus core.

Serve lightly chilled, around 10 to 12 degrees, so the developed flavours can show. It suits roast pork, veal in a mushroom sauce or a mature Comté. Best opened soon.
