Domaine Bruno Clair Marsannay Blanc 2017

Domaine Bruno Clair Marsannay Blanc is a village Chardonnay from the northernmost appellation of the Côte de Nuits.

Since 1979, Bruno Clair has built a domaine that stretches from Marsannay south to Gevrey-Chambertin and beyond, and he remains one of Marsannay's most important growers. The Chardonnay for this wine is planted on limestone-rich slopes close to Dijon, which tend to give taut, crisp whites in their youth. 2017 produced attractive, well-balanced whites across Burgundy, and after several years in bottle this should now be showing gentle toasty and nutty notes over its citrus fruit.

Pour it lightly chilled with a chicken and tarragon pie, seared scallops or soft cheeses. Best enjoyed over the next couple of years.
