Description
Bourgogne Rouge "Les Chagniots" is a single-vineyard Pinot Noir from Domaine Camille Thiriet, sourced from the named Chagniots parcel and made in the same light-footed, perfumed style that defines the domaine's approach to entry-level Côte de Nuits reds.
Camille Thiriet started from scratch in Burgundy, building the domaine from nothing since her first vintage in 2016 - a real achievement in a region where vineyard land rarely comes up for sale. Based around Corgoloin and Comblanchien in the Côte de Nuits, she now farms six hectares (following the recent acquisition of Domaine Gilles Jourdan) alongside a négociant business under the Maison C. Thiriet label, sourcing carefully from growers she trusts. The wines are made with real precision and sometimes a portion of whole-cluster fermentation, favouring a lighter, more perfumed, contemporary style over heavier, more traditional Burgundy.
Fresh and juicy with red berry fruit, it's built for easy drinking with roast chicken or mushroom dishes; serve lightly chilled at around 14-16 degrees.
