Domaine Christian Salmon Pouilly-Fumé AC 2024

Domaine Christian Salmon Pouilly-Fumé comes from the opposite bank of the Loire to Sancerre.

Pouilly-Fumé faces Sancerre across the river and grows the same grape on a higher proportion of flint, the silex that gives the appellation its smoky reputation and arguably its name. The wines tend to be a touch fuller and slower to open than Sancerre. Fermentation is cool, in tank, without oak.

Serve at 10 degrees with grilled fish, goat's cheese or asparagus. It develops over five years.
