Domaine Collotte Bourgogne rouge cuvée de noble souche is the regional Pinot Noir of a family estate at Marsannay.

Bourgogne Rouge is the regional appellation for Pinot Noir grown anywhere in Burgundy; for a Côte de Nuits domaine it usually comes from parcels on the flatter ground below the village boundary, or from vines still too young for a village label. The cuvée name points to plant material rather than a place, noble souche meaning selected old vine stock, the massale selections a domaine takes from its own best plants instead of buying in nursery clones. Domaine Collotte is based at Marsannay at the northern tip of the Côte de Nuits, the only Côte d'Or commune allowed to make red, white and rosé under its village name, and the family farm parcels there as well as in Fixin and Gevrey-Chambertin.

Light, fresh and unforced, it suits charcuterie, roast chicken and everyday bistro cooking; serve lightly chilled at around 15 degrees.
