Domaine Collotte Chambolle-Musigny vieilles vignes is an old-vine village Pinot Noir from the most delicate commune of the Côte de Nuits, in magnum.

Chambolle-Musigny gives the finest boned Pinot Noir of the Côte de Nuits. Its village vineyards sit on shallow, highly calcareous soils with very little clay, and the wines that result are perfumed and lifted rather than broad, with tannins that feel like silk rather than structure. The village lies at the mouth of the Combe d'Ambin, a gap in the escarpment that funnels cool air down across the slope and lengthens ripening. Old vines matter here, holding their balance through warm years and adding depth without weight. Domaine Collotte, a family estate based at Marsannay, ferments in open tank with indigenous yeast and matures the wine in Burgundian barrel with only a modest share of new wood.

Light-bodied and fragrant, it suits duck, veal and mushroom dishes; serve at around 15 to 16 degrees.
