Domaine Collotte Gevrey-Chambertin Évocelles 1.5L MAGNUM 2022

Domaine Collotte Gevrey-Chambertin Évocelles is a village Pinot Noir from a high, stony lieu-dit at the northern end of the commune, offered in magnum.

Gevrey-Chambertin is the largest of the Côte de Nuits communes and the source of its most structured Pinot Noir, with a band of grand crus running along the mid-slope south of the village. Les Évocelles lies at the opposite end, high above Brochon on thin, stony limestone at the edge of the woods, where altitude and a cool exposure hold acidity and give a firmer, more mineral village wine than the vineyards on the plain. Domaine Collotte is a family estate based at Marsannay with parcels spread across the northern Côte de Nuits. Fruit is hand picked and sorted, fermented in open tank, and raised in Burgundian barrel with new oak kept in check.

Firm and savoury in youth, it rewards decanting and suits game birds, beef and hard cheeses; serve at about 16 degrees.
